Getting Help Helpdesk Support Services This is your starting point for help with computing problems. • Visit our walk-in support center in Room 2113 Natural Sciences 1. Helpdesk support is provided free of charge to School of Biological Sciences faculty, staff, graduate students, etc. The Helpdesk does not support undergraduate students. Linux/UNIX Support Tri Tran (from DCS/NACS) is available for Linux/UNIX support. His office hours are generally Monday through Thursday, 2-5PM in room 261 Steinhaus Hall, X49334. Priority response is provided to DCS support contract holders, however, you can obtain assistance even without a support contract. Computer Lab Undergraduate users who need assistance should contact the Lab Attendant at X41120. The attendant is located in the lab. If the Lab Attendant is unable to assist, then please contact Eric Sanchez at X48485. Some situations (UCInetID, locked accounts, etc.) involve Network and Academic Computing Support. For assistance with these situations, contact the NACS Response Center at X42222. Instructional Computing BCS helps faculty and instructors created and maintain class accounts on NACS's E3 (Educational Electronic Environment) server. We can assist you with creating and updating web pages, maintain a site for you, as well answer questions about the many tools that E3 provides. If you need assistance, please call Eric Sanchez at extension X48485. Special Services Technical specialists are available to solve more involved problems, or help you invent new solutions (typically on a recharge basis).
