News and Updates Authenticated DHCP Services To provide a more secure network environment Bio Sci is transitioning to authenticated DHCP services. If you have been assigned IP address you do not need to register the computer with UCI Mobile Access. If not, you need to register your computer with NACS. To find out if you need to register your computer click here. If the Remote Host Name contains "DHCP" (example - Remote Host Name: ns1-122-dhcp-10.bio.uci.edu) you will need to register. Windows Security Patching Service Bio Sci offers a security patching service is available for Windows-based computers. To have your computer(s) added to the service, contact the BSC Help Desk at x43555 or bcshelp@uci.edu. Currently there is no charge for the service. Disposal of Electronic Equipment Faculty and staff may contact the Bio Sci Computing group at x43555 or bcshelp@uci.edu to have outdated or defective electronic equipment picked up and disposed of. The cost is is $20 per monitor, and $5 per computer/printer/scanner. There is no charge for small items such as keyboards and mice. |
