All computers can connect to the campus internet. All users must be aware and agree to the Computer & Network Use Policy (http://www.policies.uci.edu/adm/pols/714-18.html)
How to obtain IP Addresses:
Users in Steinhaus Hall & McGaugh Hall
Users in these buildings should request a static IP address by calling the Bio Sci Computing Help Desk if they have a Desktop or Network Device (network printers etc). If you are using a laptop, you make take advantage of the dhcp services we provide. In order to use dhcp, your laptop must be registered with NACS (this can be changed bc we’re not ready to deploy)
Users in Bonney Research Lab & Quershy Research Building
Users in these buildings should request a static IP address by calling the Bio Sci Computing Help Desk
Users in Natural Sciences I, Hewitt Hall, Sprague Hall
Users in these buildings should obtain an IP addressing using DHCP. Computers use in this building should be registered with NACS DHCP Page (this can be changed since we’re not ready to deploy). Users may request a static IP if their required by software or are running a server. Please contact the Bio Sci Computing Help Desk for assistance.
Need a Jack Activated?
If you need a network jack activated in your office or lab, please contact the Bio Sci Computing Help Desk to determine if the jacks are active in your room or if you need to activate the jack. Bio Sci Computing will coordinate the activation of your jack with NACS. Please note that activation requests may take up to 5 days to be fulfilled. |
